MSU Lifts It’s Weapons Ban

Recent revisions to MSUs arms and weapons ban allow those with properly registered concealed weapons to carry it while walking or driving through campus.

The change is due to the university policy conflicting with the State of Michigans.

But while weapons will remain banned from all buildings and facilities on campus, some students feel the change opens the door to potential danger.

Still MSU Police insist safety on campus will remain of the upmost importance.

East Lansing Library Offers Reading Programs

The library encourages summer reading with several programs including book clubs as well as offering computer classes and activities for children.

The book club program allows members to meet once a month to discuss selected titles. They are currently discussing The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Society.

Through the book talk program a group is able to discuss the story from multiple perspectives and give their own insights. A unique feature of their current book is that it is written in letter form.

Budget cuts have caused the library to rethink some programs, but the book talks are here to stay.

Families Hit The Pools

Nice weathers is finally making its way to East Lansing, and for many families the sunny days means time to hit the pool.
Things are picking up at the East Lansing Aquatic Center, where many gather to enjoy everything from slides to sandcastles.
